Moroi are the docile and more peaceful species of vampire or more commonly known as the living vampires. These vampires still have a soul and even though they still drink blood (usually from feeders) they still eat human food. Moroi are usually tall and slender, not really fighting material. However they do have the ability to manipulate the elements fire, water, wind, and earth; specializing in only one. There is a rare element that is still being rediscovered which is spirit. (attend the school)
Dhampirs are the mixture between either Moroi and human or Moroi and Dhampir. Dhampirs cannot reproduce within their own race, so they have formed an alliance with the Moroi, the Dhampirs use their naturally increased strength and combat skills to protect the Moroi so the Dhampir race can live on. The Dhampirs that protect Moroi are called Guardians. (attend the school)
Strigoi are vampires unlike the Moroi. The Strigoi are the kind of vampires that are held in common myth. They have no soul, live strictly off of blood, can't survive sunlight, have super fighting skills, and can only be killed via silver stake, decapitation, or incineration. Strigoi unlike Moroi are made, not born. They are either Moroi who willingly killed while feeding for blood or Dhampirs/Moroi that were forcibly fed upon then transformed into a Strigoi. Becoming a Strigoi sounds pretty crappy right? So why voluntarily turn into one? Well the question is simple and that is immortality, tempting but can be stripped away by the before mentioned 3 methods of killing them. In short Strigoi are monsters that are feared among the Moroi community and killed by the Dhampirs. (do not attend the school)
& These are the adults of the Academy. The Instructors are considered the Moroi and the Guardians are considered Dhampirs. Yes Dhampirs can be Instructors however they are Guardians first and foremost so they are marked as Guardians with an instructor subgroup marked below. If your character is say a visiting Moroi or something then group them as Moroi and a subgroup will be listed below.
