Acton wasn’t the only one shocked that he’d defended Juliet. She was just as surprised as him. He didn’t exactly like her, and yet he’d raced out into battle without a second thought. It was…. Nice, to say the least. Well, not that he could have gotten killed if he made any mistakes. No, she was just happy that he didn’t hate her so much he didn’t just hand her over to the Strigoi. If he had, oh she would have beaten him half to death, if that were at all possible of course. “You know, there’s no getting rid of me now.” She smiled softly, a little more color returning to her face, thankfully not the sickly green. “So you’re just gunna have to get used to me being around you from now on.” And of course she was dead serious. No way was she going to leave him alone after what they’d just been through.
For some reason though, she felt like she could trust him. After spending so much time with him now, she was beginning to understand him a little bit more, just as he must be figuring her out. Sadly though, it seemed that Acton was a rather complex individual and she found herself confused more often than not. That was alright though. She was up to the challenge.
Only when he called her a weird Moroi did she laugh, finally over the last wave of nausea. “Yeah. I know. You’re not the first to tell me that. But it sounds more like a compliment when you say it.” Smiling, she finally looked at him again. “Who isn’t weird though? There is no such thing as normal, so everyone is weird in their own way. Including you.” The way she put it really did sound like a compliment.
Oh great. And here came the nannies. Charging their way came several of the school guardians. So much for their adventure. There was no doubt what would happen. They were both in huge trouble. But… They seemed to completely ignore her at first, only addressing Acton. Well that was a relief…. Wait a minute! No it wasn’t! He’d take the blame for this whole thing, when it had been her idea to begin with! That was so not fair!
So Acton was taking therapy? For what? Was that why he’d been by the offices when she found him? He’d been hiding? Hm… Interesting. But suddenly the guardian turned on her. Oh shit. She flinched when they spoke to her. Then, hearing what Acton whispered, she almost scowled. So he really did plan on taking the whole blame. “No way in hell.” She whispered back. She knew they wouldn’t hesitate to expel a Dhampir student, so if she could take some of the blame off his shoulders…. Well, she would.
“Nope. Came on my own, sir.” She smiled sweetly. Who would have thought that a sweet girl like this would willingly hang out with the schools head bad ass?
